Meet the team

(She/Her)
Hello and welcome! My name is Gurpreet. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
Outside of my credentials, I am a first-generation South Asian female born in Canada. I have a passion for helping others find their inner strengths to help them improve their mental health and wellness. With over six years of experience in the mental health field, I have worked with vulnerable and marginalized populations who have experienced life transitions and change, increased stressors, familial fragmentation, immigration issues, and mental health concerns and/or diagnoses. I have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in working with the unique and complex experiences of others, unravelling past, present, and future needs on their path to healing.
I enjoy helping adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and self-confidence, as well as increased stressors surrounding life transitions and change. I also work with neurodiverse populations. I am passionate about helping individuals with learning about emotional regulation, understanding and working through conflict, and healthy communication.
I value working collaboratively with you, building off your strengths, being genuine and curious, creating a welcoming space. I help you create meaningful change in your life, working on your physical, mental, and emotional needs through a holistic approach. I meet you where you are and work with your unique needs, which may involve looking at your past, present, and future needs and goals, as well as exploring the culture you grew up in and live in now.
I take an integrative approach, adapting to you and your unique set of needs and intersectionalities, which are the parts that make you who you are, such as your family of origin, upbringing, culture, gender identity, socioeconomic status, and so forth. We may explore these different areas in sessions to understand and acknowledge how they have contributed to who you are today and who you want to be. I use varying therapeutic modalities such as attachment theory, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, internal family systems, and mindfulness. I am also trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and use an anti-oppressive approach. I am here to help you and your healing journey based on your needs and goals, which we work on collaboratively in sessions. Together, we can begin your healing journey and empower you to become your authentic self as you reclaim your inner dialogue and reconnect with your strength and capabilities.
When I am outside of the counselling room, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, travelling, and doing yoga.

Hi, I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and I work with adults navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, addiction, low self-worth, and significant life transitions. Whether you're facing challenges in your relationships, adjusting to new life circumstances, or struggling with your sense of identity, I’m here to support you as you explore what’s holding you back and find your path forward.
My approach is trauma-informed and collaborative—I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I am here to support, not steer your journey. I draw from a variety of modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Adlerian therapy, and often incorporate creativity and humor to make the journey a little lighter.
I offer sessions in English, Hindi, and Gujarati, and bring a multicultural perspective to therapy—having lived in India, Italy, and Canada. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can show up as your authentic self and work through what’s on your heart and mind.
When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll probably find me exploring cozy cafes, walking by the water or listening to indie music.
